A UK Incentive Case Study: An Exuberant Night in London

A UK Incentive Case Study: An Exuberant Night in London

Since the government announced the roadmap out of lockdown a couple of weeks ago, the dark cloud that has been looming over the event’s industry for the past year finally feels like it’s lifting - hallelujah.

If everything goes to plan, we will be able to host events this summer! We are realistic and understand that the proposed dates and details may change however, it’s still cause to shout from the rooftops that “the end is in sight’’ and to get excited to plan and host amazing events and trips for our clients in the near-ish future.

As we start getting the ball rolling with future events for our clients, we thought it would be nice to take a look back at the last UK event we hosted before lockdown. At the beginning of 2020 we treated the top performing Sales Managers from one of auto clients to a unique overnight extravaganza in London.

The Goal

The goal of this incentive was to push Sales Managers to hit and exceed their quarterly target and to encourage excellent customer service. It ran for a quarter and saw over 55% of Sales Managers hitting their target of which, 56% exceeded their target by over 50% and over a third more than doubled their targets.

The 50 top performing Sales Managers across the UK and their partners were rewarded with an exuberant event in London including an overnight stay at the lavish Sea Containers Hotel on the South Bank and a unique entertaining dining experience in the evening.

Activities

Upon arrival at The Sea Containers Hotel the winners were treated to bubbles and canapes while mingling and getting to know one another.

The group had a choice of two afternoon activities - Swingers Crazy Golf and a guided food tour of Borough Market.

Swingers saw the group get competitive over a few games of crazy golf, a cocktail or five and an abundance of delicious food served from the food trucks at the venue. Whilst the group that opted for the foodie experience went on a fun, guided tour of Borough Market sampling the best of British cuisine along the way.

The Main Event

After a little downtime and the chance to get dressed to dazzle, the winners and their partners were transported to the surprise venue for the evening’s dinner and entertainment by two traditional Routemaster London buses.

A glass of bubbles later, the group arrived at the unique and quirky cabaret restaurant and cocktail bar - Circus in Covent Garden! An extraordinary, eccentric and fun venue, Circus is renowned for its impressive circus performances and fusion Pan Asian cuisine.

The guests sipped on branded cocktails whilst being left dumbfounded by the welcome entertainment - a magician. The entertainment didn’t stop there and the winners spent the night being wowed by aerial performers, balancing acts and fire eaters in between courses of tasty Pan Asian sharing platters. The night continued with music, cocktails and dancing into the early hours.

Overnight Stay

The winners of the incentive were treated to an overnight stay at The Sea Containers Hotel. Located in a prime position on the South Bank in London, The 5* Sea Containers Hotel is inspired by the hull of a ship. With a design reminiscent of a 1920s transatlantic cruise liner, this hotel’s glamor and quirk was perfect for the guest’s unique stay in the capital city.

The Results

100% of the winners who attended the trip and filled out the feedback form said that they were motivated by this incentive and the feedback of the trip was hugely positive:

“Very well planned and lots of nice touches (drink on the bus etc) entertainment was also very good”
“A great time had by us both - excellent organisation and service from everyone involved”

We can't wait to get back to organising amazing travel incentives and events for our wonderful clients and their network. We know the past year has been extremely hard and many people are desperately craving face-to-face interaction and communication. We hope that when we can finally get back together - wherever it may be - the challenges of this year will make it all the more special, cherished and memorable for all involved.
